Global Warming and the Oceans
How the Oceans Once Ended Global Warming
Larry O'Hanlon, Discovery News
Dec. 26, 2007 -- Last time Earth suffered a
carbon-induced fever, it was the oceans that helped saved the day, say
marine scientists in California.
Massive ocean-bottom accumulations of the mineral barite show that the last severe global warming episode
55 million years ago was accompanied by several thousands of years of
ocean plant life kicking into high gear. All that productivity captured
excessive carbon from the atmosphere and dropped it to the ocean floor,
where it was buried -- or "sequestered." Read full story...

Refuting the Myth of Man-made Global Warming
Arguments based on science, news, and
common sense. This site is non-partisan and non-religious based. In
fact we fight the new faith based religion of global warming. Don't keep arguing the subject, just tell them to go to GlobalWarmingHoax.com!

The official position of the World Natural Health Organization in regards to global warming is that there is
NO GLOBAL WARMING!
Global warming is nothing more than just another hoax, just like Y2K
and the global freezing claims in the 1960's and 70's were. Global
warming is being used to generate fear and panic. Those behind this
movement are using it to control people's lives and for financial gain.

U.S.,Canada Map Edges of Continent on Seafloor
Washington Post Staff Writer
A joint American-Canadian cruise exploring the frigid Arctic Ocean has
mapped broad swaths of the extended continental shelf for the first
time, scientists reported Thursday.
While the researchers divulged few details, saying it will take time
to analyze the data, they said they had discovered a massive seamount
and what could be an extinct underwater volcano during the 41-day
mission.
Debbie Hutchinson, a research geologist with the U.S. Geological
Survey still aboard the Canadian Coast Guard's Louis S. St-Laurent,
said the group used advanced technology to precisely map unexplored
territory.
"From the seismic data, we're seeing features that we hadn't
imagined existed," Hutchinson said in a telephone news conference with
U.S. and Canadian reporters. "It's a very promising data set and one
that will keep us busy for many months to come."

T. J. GOREAU COMMENTS ON “OCEAN ACIDIFICATION”
by Eugene H. Buck & Peter Folger
Congressional Research Service Report for
Congress R40143
This is generally a good summary, but it
needs correction in a number of places.
One essential missing point that should be
pointed out in the introduction is that despite the recent publicity about ocean
acidification as an “unexpected” “shocking” “new” problem, this is completely
incorrect. It has been known since the start of marine chemistry over a hundred
years ago that carbon dioxide was the major acid gas in the atmosphere, and that
any increase would cause the ocean to become more acidic. This can be found in
any marine chemistry textbook. More than 30 years ago we would make Harvard
undergraduate geochemistry students routinely calculate the equilibrium decrease
in ocean pH for doubling of atmospheric CO2 as a homework exercise problem. Read full story...

A noted skeptic of "climate change" disagrees with a recent report that the oceans are becoming too acidic.
In recent hearings before the Oceans Subcommittee of
the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation,
researchers and scientists predicted a dire future for the world's
oceans. According to their research, "manmade climate change" is
warming the oceans and increasing the acidity of the water as they
absorb more carbon -- which they claim, in turn, could destroy the
economies of coastal communities.
Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted skeptic of manmade climate change who has testified before Congress, edits the Science & Public Policy Institute's
"Monthly CO2 Report." He says global-warming alarmists have realized
that their predictions are not coming true, so they are resorting to a
new scare tactic. Read full story...
TUMS™ for the Ocean?
We hear lots and lots about
carbon dioxide (CO2) in the newspaper, on the TV and internet, in magazines,
and even in conversations over dinner. Mostly what we hear about it
is the role it plays in climate change and global warming, due to it
being one of the more common “greenhouse” gases released into the
atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels. In general, we are all
familiar with the concept that CO2 released from the burning of fossil
fuels forms a layer in the earth’s atmosphere that traps heat and
heats things up at a rate faster than is believed to be “normal”
for planet Earth. Read full story...

planetnetwork.com and the Terra Project A Systemic Solution to Sustainability
by Bernard Lietaer
"A systemic conflict exists [between you and any project you speak of to the people] between corporate short-term priorities and the
long-term needs of society. Today, corporations [you] are the ones making many of
the most important decisions about our [ the rest of the world] collective future: what technologies,
energies, products we will be able to use decades from now. What each of us
wear, hear, read and do, are all shaped by that fact. Furthermore, corporate
leaders are obliged by financial markets to focus only on short-term results,
leaving as unresolved legacies many of our global problems, ranging from climate
change to peak oil. As long as our most important decisions are driven by short-term
thinking, giving birth to a long-term sustainable society is going to remain
a naïve pipe-dream..."

My point is, please check out the board of directors, advisory boards, and any other information on the member, founders, and advisors of all these websites, organizations, and news articles. Also, look for facts, and the original referencing expert data. Most likely you won't find it! Misinformation is the problem, and we do NOT need more legislation.
